Finding the best ecig can be overwhelming when you have to choose from hundreds of brands that all look and work similarly. Over the years, our team of vapers have reviewed over hundreds of ecig brands and put them under rigorous tests to measure their performance, battery life, durability, and flavor. With each review, we try to answer the questions that matter most to you. What country is the ecig manufactured? Is it made in a certified lab with strict safety standards? Is the e-liquid made in USA or China? How long does the battery last? How is the throat hit and vapor production?
Even if it gets a perfect score on all the little things, no ecig is perfect for everyone. Most shoppers look for an ecig with high vapor production and long battery life while others prefer a brand that’s manufactured using the highest quality of ingredients. And if you want an ecig for serious vaping, you’ll likely prefer the eGos and Mods more than the cig-alike models. Whatever your needs, we’ve put together a list of best ecig starter kits to narrow your search.

Best eCig Starter Kits
V2 Cigs is probably one of the best ecigs on the market. Thick vapor production, long battery life, and excellent manufacturing standards makes V2 our top recommendation for new users.
Starting Price: $29.99
Green Smoke’s cartomizers are known for their high quality, intense flavors, and great taste. These are not the cheapest cartridges on the market, but the price is well worth it.
Starting Price: $39.95
Vapor Zone let’s you customize over 30,000 e-liquid flavors so you’ll never run out of options. Their e-liquid is premium quality, made in USA using natural ingredients, and costs just $14.95 per 30mL bottle of juice. They also offer advanced vaporizers if you’re looking to step up your vaping.
Starting Price: $25.99
White Cloud Cigarettes is one of the few e-cig companies that offers cartridges with up to 3.6% nicotine strength. Most companies offer up to 1.8% or 2.4%. If you’re a heavy smoker, White Cloud’s nicotine strength may be just what you need to cut down!
Starting Price: $39.95
Unlike most electronic cigarette companies, Blu keeps everything simple by offering just three starter kits and a line of disposables. Their rechargeable e-cig is perfect for beginners, but heavy smokers may want to consider other options that offer a stronger throat hit and longer battery life.
Starting Price: $34.99
South Beach Smoke’s standard kits are a good option to consider. Since they joined forces with their sister company, Vapor Zone, they now offer tons of e-liquid flavors as well as great refillable cartridge flavors. SBS is not the best option but it’s definitely worth your money and consideration.
Starting Price: $59.99
Volcano carries three types of starter kits: Magma, Inferno, and Lavatube. The Magma kit is their entry level e-cig, while the Inferno and Lavatube are meant for advanced vapers as they offer longer battery life and vapor production. Volcano ecigs and e-liquids are popular among advanced vapers and cloud chasers, especially if they’re from Hawaii.
Starting Price: $59.99
Vapor Zeus by Vapor4Life is a vaping beast. It carries 5 volts of power, which is enough to keep you going for 2-3 days. Vapor Zeus is the world’s first and only dual-mode battery, meaning you can vape it using the automatic as well as the manual switch. All things aside, this thing is just too fun to vape.
Starting Price: $69.95
Halo is one of the most popular brands when it comes down to e-liquid flavors. But their G6 starter kit is also a pretty decent e-cig in terms of performance and price. If you do consider using their kits, make sure to not pass up on the opportunity to try their world-famous e-liquids.
Starting Price: $44.99
Apollo offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced starter kits which are ideal for any vaper. The quality of their products could be improved, but the ones we’ve used we’re too bad. Their prices are slightly lower than other brands so it’s a good brand to consider if you’re looking for something decent under $70.
Starting Price: $54.95
Vapor Couture is the world’s first e-cig brand exclusively made for female smokers and vapers. Their products are beautifully designed to appeal to any female vaper.
Starting Price: $59.99
Beginner’s Guide to Choosing the Best eCig Brand
Not all ecigs are created equal. Although most companies like to think of themselves as the “best e-cig” in the world, not all of them actually deserve this recognition.
So what does it take to be the top brand? Below are a few of the criterias we recommend you look at before shopping an ecig:
- Vapor production
- Battery life
- Cartridge flavor variety and quality
- Return policy and warranty
- Manufacturing and safety standards
- Are the products made in USA or China?
Based on our experience of the ecig brands we’ve reviewed and tested at ATInet over the past couple of years, there are a few things the most popular e-cigarette companies have in common: they have a reliable customer service, long lasting and powerful batteries, thick and satisfying vapor production with a nice throat-hit, they offer flavors that taste great all the way to the last hit, and most importantly they take rigorous safety measures to ensure their products are fully compliant with the manufacturing standards of the electronic cigarette industry. We also look at whether they are a member of AEMSA and that their e-liquids are compliant with AEMSA’s safety standards.
Almost 99% of all ecigs and cartridges are manufactured in China so unless you want to have a horrible experience with your first e-cig, have your batteries explode, or even worse get so frustrated that you want to go back to analogs, take our word and consider the top 10 ecig brands we’ve come up with.
Do we gain financial incentives for recommending these ecig companies? No, we don’t gain any additional incentive for recommending a particular company. Read our full disclaimer for more information about how we operate and fund our site.
Avoid eCig Scams
eCigs scams are rare but you should keep an open eye so if you ever come across one you’ll know what to do. The most common type of scams include Free Trial offers. The offer claims that you can get your e-cig kit free of charge, but that’s not always the case. On some occasions customers have been charged upwards of $99 per month after they’ve received their “free” kit. To avoid these scams, you’ll want to read the fine prints very carefully to find out if you’ll be placed in a recurring billing cycle once you receive your free kit. Stay away from these offers at all times – you’ll gain nothing but a crappy and over-priced starter kit, not to mention the headache and frustration.
Only Buy From Reputable eCig Companies
Electronic cigarettes hit the market in 2007 and there have been hundreds of companies who’ve come and gone. There are only a dozen of reputable brands that have remained in the market. V2 Cigs, Blu Cigs, Green Smoke, Njoy, and Vapor4Life are some of the bigger names you might have heard of the most. For beginners, these are the best companies to buy from. Once you get into the world advanced vaporizers, you’ll find more options such as JoyeTech and Innokin but for now stick to the basics.
Larger companies have much more resources to allocate towards safety standards so chances are the products you buy from them are higher quality than what you might pick up at your local gas station. Plus, if anything goes wrong with your e-cig you’ll know that they’ll be around to fix it for you. The last thing you want is to buy into one of those cheap-looking e-cigarettes that taste and feel horrible.
